I am a 13 year old event rider going novice and moving up to training by the end of the year. I need a new jumping saddle that will be both suitable for xc and stadium. I am on a budget of $1200 or less. Any suggestions? I am a 16.5 size and have a very long leg. Please let me know of good brands, website, or if you know of a saddle for sale.

  1. Any Pessoa saddle would be great.  The Blyth Tait is specifically for eventing... the description of it on the Pessoa website says it was designed so you can take it in cross country and stadium show jumping.  Here's a link to the pessoa saddles website: http://www.pessoasaddles.com/english/eba...

Also, Crosby makes a good saddle.  I'm not familar with the different models except that I got a Crosby XL close contact saddle for Christmas and it's really comfortable.  I jump in it, but I do eq... I don't know exactly what you need for eventing.

If you're not opposed to buying online and getting a slightly used saddle, you should check ebay and horse websites like the classifieds at equine.com and horsetopia and things like that.  I got my saddle in very good shape from ebay for only $300 when it rightly should have cost at least $500 more than that and was probably originally bought for about $1500
