Question:

What kind of kneepads do college/club volleyball players use?

I've noticed that they're small, thin white ones. I'm interested in those because they seem to be more flexible unlike chunky asics kneepads. Please recommend some good, small volleyball kneepads!

  1. Mizuno VS-1, Those are the most popular ones and they're really comfortable and easy to move in, as a matter of fact i have three pairs

  2. Well, I prefer the Asics pads myself, but I'm a DS/Libero so that extra padding is nice. But I have alot of friends in club, and I also know alot of people on my high school team that wear what you are talking about. Pretty much everyone that wears a thin type has the Mizuno VS-1. It's made of a thin, flexible material that breathes alot better than most. They also fold easy if you are into that kind of wear.

  3. Mizuno VS-1

  4. I have 2 pairs of mizuno kneepads and I love them. I would go for an adult large or medium, since they tend to run small.  I've never seen any other brand that is that small, but protects your knees well.

You can get them at Chick's or online for a reasonable price - I think that they were about $20-25.

  5. the thinnest and most comfortable i have worn are mizuno's  they are hardly even noticable. personally i feel more protected wearing thicker kneepads- im about as graceful as an ox when i hit the floor. thicker knee pads do not seem to slide off as easily when pancaking in my experience which prevents floor burn. my favorite are aasics. my high school used these though my bluv team used mizunos. both are effective it just depends on your taste. i must also say that my aasics helped me several times to prevent dislocation in my knees while the mizunos only work as pads  not as any kind of bracing

  6. i had ones from mizuno that i loved. once i tried them, i couldn't use anything else. they are light weight, not clunky. they sell them at chicks. they're called the vs-1.

  7. If you are going to buy kneepads, just make sure you do not try to get the cheapest.  Cheap kneepads are worse than no kneepads.  At least with no kneepads, you know you have nothing there and you are careful.  With cheap kneepads, you think you are wearing something on your knees.  It will only take 1 dive to figure out that you do not have any real protection for your knees.

  8. I have played DS.  You can basically look for them anywhere that sells volleyball knee pads.  But as everyone else has said go with the Mizuno's

  9. there are so many options out there even w/in brands.

if you play back row you might want some with more padding, most college players have learned how to dive w/o hurting themselves, and many dont even wear knee pads(unless for "show") personally i like mizunos that everyone else has been suggesting b/c i play front row only, but i wear some Nike dri fit(skinny) kneepads to practice if i know we'll be doing alot of diving drills.

  10. i personally like the nike dri fit.  they are amazing.  i have a couple of pairs.  thats what we use for school and club.
