What kind of knife should I get?

Question

I have about a $100 limit.. I could spend more but i'd rather not to.. ok I need a knife and I would like a fixed one not a folder but we go hiking a lot in the bush and theres fricken cougars everywhere and bears all over and im not that huge so yeah and one that I could use for carving too just a knife ill use when I go hiking in the mountains and around our lake (its not a very populated lake and its big and in the north so yeah theres not lots of ppl) any ideas? links would be great
