  1. The area is arid to semi - arid and is mildly hilly.

    There is a book called "Around Mt. Isa" came out about 20 years ago with a lot of that kind of information.  My father had a copy but I have not seen it for a long time.  

    You will see corellas in the area, these are while parrots smaller than a cockatoo or galah.  Very common.

    Roos, wallabies, no platytpuses because there is no surface water apart from artificial dams.
