Question:

What kind of laptop should I get?

I want and need to buy a laptop. I am going to college, so it is going to be used to schoolwork and also personal use. I've been advised against getting HP laptops because 'people are lucky if they even last the year warranty' guaranteed or wtvr. So they aren't as good as they seem to be (I have like 3 friends who have HP laptops, for almost a year, and they say that they're messing up already). The same goes for Dell I guess. I've been told that they suck as well.

So I was wondering what kind of a laptop do you think would be best for me to get for personal and school work?

I appreciate your help and thanks in advance!

  1. i have a dell laptop and it has worked for the last 10-12 yrs so i reccomend that kind of laptop!!!! e mail me for more info tomandjerry345623@yahoo.com

  2. well i use the sony vaio and its amazing

  3. toshiba

  4. Macs are good , because they don't get any virses. Other than that you need to look for the properties like. Processor and RAM, because The better the processor the more, quality and performance from your applications and the RAM its about how fast it can cope with task from the applications at the same time. The graphics don't matter too tough.

  5. Toshiba. I have had one for 2 years and it works really well and I never had a problem with it.

  6. Dells usaully are pretty good. from expeirnce, i no that some times they frezze up but otherwise they are great!

  7. i defiantly recommend the dell inspiron 1525.

i might be biased because it is what i use, but i honestly think dell is amazing. and if you get the year warranty - you get free repairs and stuff for, and even free shipping to the dell shop. it comes with a vista package and it takes a little getting used to if you've only used xp, but it's totally worth the day or two hassle of adjusting.

    AND!

the laptop comes with all these pre-loaded security programs! and they last for like up to four months or so. i felt like i got my money's worth - but thats just me.

  8. Well Girlfriend you should like TOTALLZ buy a pink one BUTT not a dark pink icky!! Like HOTT Pink!!!

The reason i like PINK so much is actually a secret. Its that i am g*y but don't tell anyone because i am in the closet.

P.S. You HAVVVVEEE to BEDAZZLE you lappy it would look oh so fab!!!

    TOOTLES!!! XOXOXO

  9. I'd get a macbook and everyone says the macbook pro and all the other laptops are different but there not. so the cheapest is the macbook. and make sure you get 250GB. get the white one because that's only one that goes to $1500.00. This is the cheapest.

  10. I thought that Compaq laptop is good for your school and personal use,

because right now i have Compaq laptop and it is working nicely. In my class most have Compaq laptop.

  11. i deffinatly recommend mac book. ive had this for about a year and it never messed up once. one of my friends has had his for about 4 or 5 years and he says its still like the day he got it. its cuase macs cant get viruses and are made to last. you can get a mac book at apple.com and you can get like a 100 dollar discount for being a student

  12. I'd check out a MacBook.  They tend to last for a long time, don't get viruses and if you buy one now you can get a free iPod.  They're a little more expensive, but very well built and I've never had anything but good luck with their tech support.

  13. I recommend a Mac Book Pro for school. DO NOT get a Mac Book Air. They have no computing power. If you are looking for a Windows computer, get a Vista made by Acer.

  14. There are so many to choose from, but I chose to buy DELL laptops. I have had my DELL laptop for about six (6) years with no trouble at all. It is used daily, several hours per day. I bought my daughter a DELL laptop last year when she started college and she uses it constantly and has had no problems at all. Any products will give trouble from time to time but I have found that the DELL laptops that I bought have done well.

  15. Always get a MacBook. And to the first answerer for a MacBook Air, consider getting a MacBook and you'll like it more. A MacBook is more portable, light and fast. Another piece of advice, don't buy the white one. It gets dirty where your hands are. But if you like the white one, use a lint free cloth to clean it.

  16. I'm an IT engineer so I deal with a lot of laptops, if you have the money for it a MacBook pro is great, the hardware is solid, very well built and they are nice fast machines, comes with 2.4GHz core 2 duo, 2GB Ram, 256MB Geforce 8600m GT - great for games its got everything you could need and will last you years and runs Windows if you need it to.

If you cant afford a MacBook Pro then I would suggest Lenovo, they may not look as good as some laptops but most are high spec like the R61 - 2.1 C2D, 2GB Ram, 128MB nvidia graphics.

I wouldnt get a macbook air it may seem nice but after a while you will start to learn a different side to it.

sony laptops might seem nice but after a while will start falling apart.

Other than that Toshiba's last a pritty long time and arent a bad spec.

  17. definitely a mac book air

  18. just for school work you would need a dell small and medium business laptop, go on dell.com and look thorugh small and medium business

  19. either get a toshiba laptop which are good for anything or a dell XPS
