I am going to be purchasing a new laptop in about 2 weeks. I currently have a Gateway MT6451 which i HATE. Its had a new MB, dvd drive, and the charger only charges when it wants too....all within a year and a half. I am looking to spend about 800-1100 (max) on a new laptop. I bring my laptop with me in a bookbag made for laptops, so i would prefer something under 17". I watch movies a lot on my computer and download quite a few tunes and movies. What suggestions would you have to offer...and PLEASE dont even mention gateway or acer. Had both and they blow! I am looking for honest opinions, not just some salesman trying to sell me the best there is.

  1. dell...trust me i take computer classes like majoring in computers and dell is the best...plus my brother has one and its amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  2. If you love Macs but can't afford them, I suggest looking into the Sony VAIO CR series. I have one and I absolutely adore it. It's very similar to a Mac (at least I think so.) It's lightweight, comes in several cool colors, has a great battery life, very nice graphics and a built in webcam that allows you to edit your pictures kind of like the photobooth program on Mac's. I've had this laptop about 6 months and I LOVE it. I haven't had any problems with it. It's less expensive than the Mac's also.  And this is also quite small so you'll have no problem fitting it into your backpack (trust me, I've already tried!) I considered a Mac when I was buying my laptop because a friend of mine had one and I liked hers, but honestly I'm glad I got this one instead. I prefer it over a Mac, but that's just me.

Here's the website for you to check out...

& trust me, it looks even better in person. Can you tell I love this computer? haha. Good luck!

  5. you should aim for HP pavilion laptops. not only they are stylish, but what they deliver is simply staggering. well, watching movies and listening to music is no big deal for a laptop. and you will be fine with a mainstream HP pavilion.for example in the one I put the link for you you have a 2.0 GHZ dual core CPU and you have 4 GB of RAM and you have 250 GB of hard disk. its crazy and it only costs you 750$.

plus it is only 14.1 inches, it is very portable. what do you want more?

  6. You could always go with a macbook because they have a really good wireless internet range (so you can steal from neighbors), they have really nice screens, user friendly, itunes it made for mac, and they rarely get viruses unless you open an email to recive $100 dollars. It might be streching the price a little bit, but its well worth it.

  7. with that budget you can try dell inspirons,hp laptops and asus.

  8. I love my Dell Inspirion. Check out the link below, I think this would be a great choice for your needs.

  9. Apple. http://www.apple.com/mac - You will no be disappointed with a Mac!

  10. Mac. <333
