What kind of lawyer would I need for a tenant/landlord dispute?

I'm suing my landlord for back-rent and my deposit.

  1. If you are filing in Small Claims court, you do not need a lawyer at all.

    Small Claims is a simplified process and fairly straight forward, you present your evidence to support your claim, the other party does the same. The judge decides the outcome.


  2. You answered your own question.  You need a landlord/tenant lawyer.

      Since most disputes are heard in claims court where lawyers are banned you can not have a lawyer represent you in the courtroom when your case is heard.
