My brother and myself inherited a property as children to be fully turned over to us when I turned 18. 5 years later I want to sell it. I have a signed paper from him stating he relinquishes all rights and it's notarized. Any idea of what kind of lawyer should I talk to about getting this started and getting this in my name? It's still in the deceased persons name.

  1. Didn't the attorney handling the estate change the deed and put the property in your name?  Who has been paying the property taxes on this property for the last 20 years?  Are you sure that the deed is still in the deceased name?  I would go down to the Hall of Records and get a copy of the deed.  You should go to a real estate attorney with a copy of the will, a certified copy of the deed, the probate records, or a copy of the Trust, and a copy of the death certificate so that the property can be put in your name.

  2. Real estate attorney

  3. An estate lawyer.

  4. estate lawyers handle these type of issues?
