I need something from the Social Security Office that tells my employer that my SS# is mine?

Any ideas of what kind of letter that is?

  1. You don't need a letter, you need to get your social security CARD.  Most parents get their child's social security card not long after they're born so see if your parents have it.  Otherwise go to your local Social Security office and apply for a replacement card (you have to go in person).  If you need verification immediately, when you're there, ask the person helping you for a letter to prove that you have a valid social security number.
