What kind of lotion should I use on my face before makeup?

Before I put on my makeup, I wash my face and apply a little lotion to at least keep my face from feeling dry, cracked, and ashy. I was using liquid foundation before because I want to avoid the powder mess. But I found a powder that works better for me. Lately, I noticed that after some hours, my face would look oily. I believe it's the lotion that's making me shine.

POINT IS (lol) does anyone know a good lotion that doesn't make you shine, but doesn't leave you feeling dry either?

I recommend Clean and Clear "Oil free morning moisturizer" It works great, because your problem isn't that you have oily skin it's the the make up has to many harsh chemicals, try a power like "annabelle" 100% natural face powder it's oil absorbing or botanicals "oil free just for me face power" however you may want to wash you face with an oil free face wash like Neutrogina, it's easy for me to give this advice because i was in the same situation.

I use Clean and Clear Oil-free moisturizer (it's from the Soft line). It works great and it really doesn't leave any shine. I always apply it before I put makeup on.

I would also recommend you use a mattifier, which pretty much absorbs all the oil on your face. I use the Mary Kay oil mattifier, and I swear by it! It works great! :)

I like Clean and Clear Ultra Light Oil Free Moisturizer.

But, try using a Primer after you apply the moisturizer. I love Smashbox Photo Finish. They have different variations. It keeps your skin matte and oil free all day. They sell it at Sephora, Ulta, etc.

Make sure that you use "facial moisturizer" and not "facial lotion". Clean & Clear makes one that I like called "Shine-Free Facial Moisturizer." I also like Proactiv's "Green Tea Moisturizer"
