  1. Seriously catfish are not known for biting on a fly or a lure unless you happen to throw the lure into their mouth. The best baits are fresh baits. Chicken liver, cut shad, and such. I have included a website for you to look at for some baits.

  2. deep diving lures

  3. my favorite for big cats is a bluegill and cut it so where it breaks the tail bone so it still flops a little and puts of vibrations and blood but it still wont be going nowhere

  4. idk where do u fish maybe it depends where u are and what the fish are used to seing just a thought

  5. catfish are bottom feeders they don't really bite at lure or flies unless you just happen to annoy them with it.just use a worm and fish on the bottom.

  6. fresh calf liver can catch big cats such as channel, blues, or yellow cats

  7. spam soaked in wd-40

  8. Ive taken catfish on a 8wt fly rod when i was child, i used  size 8 hook, wrapped in lead wire then with some yarn wrapped around it, but seriously i think the catfish was simply curious and took the bait, your best option is to use a bait, a good old stink bait works very well, chicken liver, hot dogs all work very well, they arent known for taking lures or flies so stick to bait.
