  1. 10 or 11 minutes is very respectable.  That is what you should aim for.  Anyone who says any less isn't realistic.

  2. It kind of depends on if you are male or female (men are naturally a bit faster) and how fit you were to begin with. The first time I actually tried on a mile I got just under 9 minutes. I wasn't fit then. By the time I got 7:35, I wasn't exactly fit, but healthy (I was never fat, just unfit). So if you are taking up running 7:30 for female and 7:00 for male is a good speed to aim for.

  3. ten or eleven minutes

  4. Depends on your age also.

I began running when I was 13, and I ran a 6 minute mile the first time.

    I actually won a race.

All other responses, I think he means "one mile" run as fast as possible.

Some of the responses seem to be a jogging pace for a 5k.

Any healthy, young man should be able to go under 8 minutes.

  5. it depends on your age and your gender. Here are some examples.

Male 13 years old- 9 or 10 minutes

Male 15 years old- 7:30 to 8:30 minutes

Male 17 and up- 7 to 8:30 minutes

Female 13 years old- 9:30 to 11 minutes

    Female 15 years old- 8:30 to 9:30

Female 17 and up- 8 to 10 minutes

Hope I helped you out some!!!!!!!!!!! =)
