What kind of money should I bring to Dominican Republic, I am from Canada. Can I exchange it there?

just bring your atm card and get money out there (which will come out in local currency).  

you will pay an atm fee, so best to limit the times you take out $ to save on charges.

I usually bring US dollars and get along very fine. You should be aware of the exchange rate with Dominican pesos, because people, especially at flea markets, will make the US dollar price a lot higher.

You will be able to exchange your money there if you want to, but I suggest to do it before (unless you want pesos, because you cannot get them in Canada)

If you get pesos, use them or exchange them before you come back because you will not be able to change it back in Canada.
