What moth kind of moth is this?

~i know its not the clearest picture~

also im looking for someone who can tell me what kinds of moths i collect since i just started and im not to sure about the names

  2. That is a type of hawk or sphinx moth.

  3. Its a lime hawk moth (Mimas tiliae) Fairly common in the uk.

    Closely related to the poplar hawk moth.

    You can differentiate by the position of the wings.

    The lime hawk moth rests with its wings at 45 degrees ,but the poplar rests with its wings at 90 degrees.
