What kind of motor oil do I need change for my 2000 BMW 325i ?

I need to change my motor oil, but I do not know what kind of motor oil I need change. Please tell me , thank you

  1. Many have gone to synthetic in the 5w-40 grade.  The ones with approval usually on the label say European Formula.  Check your manual and look for the approved specs and types and then read the labels on the oil containers at the store for an approved one.  Mobil 1 and Amsoil both have euro formulas approved for M-B, BMW and VW usage.


  2. and not only manual but should be a sticker under the hood and on the oil cap  telling you what type and any parts store will know what kind it should take but most newer cars take 5w/30 and really any kind of oil is ok but 30 which goes in lawnmowers 5w30 10w30 will be just fine any name brand will not hurt
