What kind of motorcycle should I get? I'm a tall-ish guy at 6'2, and I weigh 210. I love the look of standard bikes, but whatever I need to get on the road will do.

  1. 6'2" isn't tall - it's above average.

Go to some motorcycle dealerships and sit on the bikes to see what fits.

You don't have to buy a new bike - just figure out what works for you.

  2. I marvel at the number of people that come to this site asking what bike they should get. As far as I'm concerned, if you have to ask then you aren't ready to get a bike.

A bike is very personal decision that you need to make on your own. Decide what your budget is and go out and look at / sit on different bikes. Ask yourself what gets your heart pumping just by looking at it. If it gets you excited by just looking just think what it will do to you when you ride it.  I don't care if it is a sport bike, a cruiser or a moped.

  3. I'm black, 326 lbs., and 6' 7"-I like streefighters. Look at the Suzuki SV650 guy. That or the Honda 599, yamaha FZ6, or  Triumph Street Triple 675.

  4. Suzuki SV650, or SV1000, or V Strom 650, or DL1000

  5. Height really has little to do with size of bikes....

I ride with guys that are taller than you who ride 600cc  sportbikes, and I ride with guys that are barely 5'4" riding litre bikes. It is all about you being comfortable on whatever you ride. Goto a motorcylce dealer and sit on a few you think might work. If you plan on riding for great lengths of time and are not in the mood to drag your knee, look into a cruiser. If you want to crash some corners and drag your knee for however long, look into sportbikes that have a less aggressive riding stance i.e. Honda F4i's.

Or you can get whatever the heck you want, buy bar risers and custom rearsets that adjust to what you really like.

  6. I think it does matter. I'm tall, too--6'2" but heavier--250. As a big guy, you don't like the feel of a bike with too high a center of gravity. That's why I like cruisers and tourers. I'm a Harley rider, and feel very comfortable on my Road King.

  7. You would be fine on most of the street legal bikes sold in America.  Some will obviously be better than others, it's best to just hit the dealers and check them out to see what you like and how they feel.

Kyle isn't black, he's nowhere close to 326 lbs or  6' 7" tall.  He may like streefighters, but not as much as pokemon.

However, I must admit he did name some great bikes to have a look at....the Suzuki SV650, Honda 599, yamaha FZ6, & Triumph Street Triple 675.

  8. 6'4" 280 and I ride an 03 Roadstar 1600
