Question:

What kind of mushrooms are these? (pics)?

They started to just pop up. I am curious if they are poisoness and whatnot, worried about dog/kids getting near them. And whats best method of removing them? They seem to be spreading rather quickly. I've not seen ones like this around here before. Thankx!

  1. That root that is exposed is the source of that fungus. They are a root rot fungus. They might be armillaria.


  2. erm i dont think they are poisonous. We had some of those growing in our garden on some rotting wood.

    Still i wouldnt try eating them and if you did id go and see a doctor just to be safe.

  3. they look like those "straw" mushrooms used in chinese food.

    sometimes they are canned but i would not try to eat them
