What kind of name is Röhnsten (which nationality)?

If you’ve never heard of it, or have heard of it but don’t know the answer, please tell me what nationality you think it belongs to, as in what it sounds like…

eg. German, Austrian or whatever…

And does it sound like a surname or a first name?

I would be fairly sure it is a last name. BUT.. it is possible to have come from different places.  What you CAN do, instead of guessing, is to use valid records, to find where the person with the name came from.  That would be more accurate.

Looked this up...is apprently a Surname (Last name) and Scandanavian...(Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Icelandic or Danish)

I would guess that the name is a sir name changed from Rohnstein to Rohnsten as not to sound too Jewish.  I would further guess that that family was Yiddish living somewhere in Prussia.
