What kind of neck is this when its got the little metal squares in the frets of the neck like this?

  1. Not sure exactly what you mean by "what kind of neck".  Those squares are just fret markers and aren't metal.  They may be abalone (or imitation abalone) shells which have an iridescent look to it.  The neck is probably made from mahogany.

    For $800, you're not getting ripped off, but it's not a steal either.  They sell new for about a grand.
