They are working on Full Electric cars with quicker charge batteries. The are also working on cars with Fuel Cells as well as Solar Power. They are also working on Cars like they had in 'The Jetson's' in the 1960's

All new cars help the economy, a lot.  Not just new models.  All manufacturing is that way.

The most interesting thing coming through the pipeline is a few plug-in hybrids.  They can work as full electrics.  Major manufacturers have always stayed away from electrics, and it looks like we may be about to get some.  The power infrastructure is NOT READY!  But it'll be fun, just the same, for some folks to have cars that don't run on gasoline.

We've got to stop meeting like this, people are going to start talking!

I had looked into dehydrolizing water for hydrogen fuel many years ago. I do not have the knowledge nor the equipment to take it any further, but I'm betting some mad scientist somewhere is mumbling over results from several tries!

What could happen, is you can pull the hydrogen atom out of water and use it as fuel, which means that you gas up with your garden hose...or better yet...you can fuel up at your local sewage treatment plant with the effluent water for 1/5 of the cost of city waters!!

I kind of think though we're going to just tinker at a snails pace with several forms of alternate energy. I'd like 'em to tear up the streets and go back to horses myself although getting my boat to the dock and launching might be quite a challenge!

I think it's a little late for that now.  And as long as the oil companies have so much pull with the government, It's not likely that any vehicles that don't use gas will be sold in masses for cheap.
