  1. you know what? minorities is just another word for "smoke". There are no minorities. An American is an American. If a person, no matter the tone of their skin, has a social security number in the USA, they are of the United States. Immigrants from all nations have been oppressed here due to their unfamiliarity with wealthy men and women in power. Keeping the masses in the dark is the name of the game and there are far too many battles to be named. The war will never be over and obstacles will remain as long as we stand separate.

  2. Minorities have been through several obstacles and continue to struggle in the US today. For instance, black neighborhoods are more likely to be crime ridden and have access to worse schools. The Civil Rights Movement didn't happen too long ago and a vast number of people in this country still "cling" to racism and prejudice.

Here's a quick rundown of obstacles minorities have to overcome in the US.

    -Higher crime in neighborhoods

    -Lower wages

    -Shoddier primary & secondary education

-Not likely to go to college

    -Less opportunity for jobs

-More likely to be bugged by the police

    -More health problems

    -Less access to health care

    -Higher drug abuse

    -Higher domestic abuse

-More likely to go to prison

-More likely to join street gangs for guidance & protection

-More deviance from lack of social togetherness

While this society tends to put off social responsibility under the guise of "Individual responsibility", when the game of life is rigged against an entire people, individual responsibility shifts towards pure survival. Hence why its in society's best interest to lift disenfranchised people out of misery to place them in productive roles.

  3. I think white males are slowly starting to overcome some of the PC obstacles thrown at them by popular culture.

  4. Well the truth is they haven't overcome very many but not because of lack of effort, rather the current power structure has put up alot of barriers to maintain the status quo.  The last real obstacle minorities overcame were undoing the segregation policies of the southern united states.  There are many people that feel Obama's run for president has broken down many obstacles but unless he actually becomes president I would say 'no' to that.  Women as a minority, which I have snicker at if they truly believe that have made the biggest strides.  They have broken the education barrier but still haven't found a way to get equal pay, or find religious equality.

Here's a question for the asker, what would happen to America if we had equality  with no class system?
