  1. It takes plane old motoroil, the kind you put in your chevrolet.  For decades, the type of oil has ALWAYS improved on the previous oil designations, so you can still get oil for a 1978 Honda that meets specs for the latest and greatest.  But the next one (2009?) May not be backward compatible.  Does that mean we need to buy up a supply?  I do not know.

    You can find out more details by getting an owners manual for the machinery in question.

    Currently oil is made using API SM, I think, and for diesels, CC. All  newly made grades in one.
