  1. SAE 30 its whats used at the store thats packaged for lawn mower oil.

  2. Go to a home improvement center like Lowes or a Home depot. They have the oil needed for lawn mowers.

  3. read your owners manual,  and you'll find that for most 4 stroke power equipment when being used at  outside temps over 55'-60' and a typical lawnmower being used at 70'-90' .. a straight 30 weight...  gas engine oil should be used... only use 5-30 in the winter for your snowblower... if you use 5-30 in your lawnmower you'll find that you have to add oil more often.....after you drain the 2 cycle out.add the 30weight (less tha a Qt see manual usually about 3/4) run the machine for a 1/2 hour then change and replace again.... also ..you may want to replace the sparkplug ... after trying to start the engine with the 2 cycle in it ,could foul the plug

  4. I just use 30 wt. automotive oil...........it's fine and has never given me a problem. Just try and maintain a even level at all times..........I just check before starting to mow each time...gas and oil.........just a good habit......bye

  5. Briggs, Tecumseh and Kohler recommend 30wt oil.

  6. I am assuming that yours is 4 cycle. Most lawn mower uses 30W oil. Personnaly, considering that :

Most people will tend to forget changing the oil at regular intervals

    These engines run pretty hot

The amout of oil is small

I prefer to use synthetic oil. Better quality and better resistance to degradation due to high temps.

  7. What make is your lawn mower?  The best oil is the stuff produced by the manufacturer for your particular type of mower.  The problem is different manufacturers use different grades of oil, so lawn mower oil that'll work in one mower may not work in another.  If you don't have the owner's manual you should be able to go to the place you bought it and get the right oil.
