I'm not sure if we should buy a dress, or just something plain for her to wear.

Thanks

  1. Bring both so you can decide when the time comes. Make sure that you bring plenty of different sizes. (The outfits that we brought were still way to big, even though they said 0-3 months. Thats the most important thing to be prepared for.

EDIT - Same with mine Mandi, he was a big boy, 8lb 2oz and still didn't fit into newborn clothes.

  2. We dressed one of ours in a onesie and wrapped in a blanket I made, next one only had on a diaper and wrapped in blanket. Both were great pictures. The photographer usually tries to get in pretty close on baby's face, so you won't see much of outfit anyway. Besides, newborns are too hard to dress in something fancy, and even though the dresses say newborn size, trust me it'll look HUGE on your newborn!

  3. make sure you get one thing in preemie size, my son was full-term but didn't fit in nb size clothes.  He wore a sleeper since they get cold so easily.

  4. I got one of the Child of Mine brand sleeper/gown outfits for my daughter.  It was a one piece outfit that had snaps up the front and you could snap them so it had legs or so the bottom part was a gown.  Then I had some socks for her feet.  It was comfy, very soft, and still cute enough for pics in the hospital.

  5. I think something just comfortable and babyish to wear is cute. Nothing all out there like dresses or overalls or sweaters lol.  Do that when you do regular pictures. Dress them all up.  I went with the sleeping look . Just a pair of pants with feet attached taht was white and blue then a matching short sleeve shirt that went with it.  And a blue receiving blanket for the background.  I didnt put onesies on him until his umbilical cord fell off...so it could get more air on it to fall off.  He was in tshirts most of the time and little pants.  You want to keep them warm so remember that.  I didnt want to put him in anything that irritated his skin either...so i just stuck with comfortable things the first couple weeks. But that is just what i did and my opinion. :) I waited until I got professional pics done to get him all cute dressed n all of that! I just wanted something sweet and simple for his hospital ones.

  6. I'm bringing a couple cute onesies to choose from.  I would rather that she be dressed in something comfortable.  Onesies can be pretty darn adorable, too!

  7. We brought something that was sentimental to us and took her first picture in that.  My mom had bought us a onesie when we were at the beach while I was pregnant.  It was a hand painted one of a kind.  It was so tiny and when she showed it to my husband his eyes welled up! I will always remember that.  I couldn't believe we would every have something so small to put in it but low and behold the day came.  It was a great picture and always reminds me of our feelings when we were first expecting her.

  8. They are so fragile when they are born, you might have a hard time changing them and feel like you might hurt them, I don't think you need to dress them all fancy, mine wore a onesie and she looked cute, they are newborns so they pretty much all look alike.

  9. for us we wanted her to be comfortable on the car ride home so we dressed her in pants and a shirt. not so cute i know but we waited until we could get her home for the cute pics. we did record her first bath though, which was unforgettable (at the hospital) and most of her "first" pics she was naked....

  10. We brought a long sleeve onesie outfit with pants for the 1st and a PJ type outfit for the 2nd.  You'll take cute pics later, the ones at the hospital, usually, are not all that fantastic beside the fact that they are pictures of your child.
