Several possibilities:

*Eastern Screech Owl, red morph or Brown intermediate morph.

located from the Rock Mountains east, to the southern part of Canada and Northern Mexico.  All over the East Coast of America.

*Northern Saw-whet Owl

Located from Virginia to Nebraska in the winter, Pennsylvania up to Maine all year round, southern Canada in the summer.

But my best choice would be a Red Morph Eastern Screech Owl.  Very active at dusk and they are gradually declining.
