  1. I would use an ENAMEL paint to get good adhesion.  Acrylics are too likely to rub off with use.

    DO wash the Lego's in warm water and dish-soap to clean off mold-release agent so you get good adhesion.

    My favorite brands are TESTORS, TAMIYA, and FLOQUIL.

  2. Try using acrylic paints. It might sound a little wierd but the Games Workshop brand tend to work well for painting on plastics and vinyl, it's pretty much what they are designed for I guess.

    If you do intend to use GW paints try adding a single drop of water to them before painting as this eliminates brush strokes if you intend on painting larger areas.
