What kind of paint should I use to paint the Strat guitar controller (from my Rock Band set)?

I'm going to my local Anime convention as Haruhara Haruko of FLCL this year and I'm replacing her Rickenbacker Bass with my Rock Band Strat (I know, HORRIBLE substitute) but I want to have the same color on the Strat as it was on the show on the Rick. What kind of paint should I use on the controller?

Sorry but you shouldnt pain it

The paint will not be sealed in properley and this will cause the controller to start craking and it will make it look very bad
