  1. Do not use emulsion.I did and my boat sunk!.

  2. If it is a timber plank boat, I would suggest, dont use a two pot paint. You will end up with cracks in the paint at the timber joints. A good oil based house paint leaves a pretty good finish and is also very durable. Both in the water and in the sunlight.

  3. Well its obviuos but hasnt been said yet, waterproof paint!! Hahahah. I know, I just stated the obvious.

  4. charlie_the_tweet is correct. Many people just use an exterior oil base paint on wood. It really depends on what you want to spend. Some use Polyester Resin and they make a color base you can mix should you want a little color.

  5. If it is wooden, then a good quality exterior (oil based) gloss paint should do the job. Or you could splash out on a 2-part polyurethane boat paint. Cost a lot more but does a grand job.
