What kind of passport do i need to visit Italy?

I was born in Mexico , and now I am a U.S permanent , what kind of passport do I need to visit?

You'll need a Mexican passport as you're not a US citizen, you are only able to apply for a US passport one you are a citizen of the US.

A mexican passport is needed for international travel.

You are still a citizen of Mexico so you must use a Mexican passport.  You may apply for one at the nearest Mexican embassy or consulate.  See site below for list.  You may get an American passport only after you become an American citizen.  You must also carry your current green card.
