  1. It's not an easy task to say one or the other without more information or a photo.

    Varieties

********Over 3,000 pear varieties********** are known*********

  2. Is the tree self-pollinating?  Do you have other pears within the vicinity that would pollinate that one?  If not, I would lay odds that it is a Kiefer Pear.  Now the fruit once mature in Fall will have a brownish/golden color to it but the fruit right now would appear to be green and red.

If it is farely disease resistant and you aren't doing anything to help it along I would vote Kiefer.

I have one which I keep pruned to about 10 feet and although the fruit is not as good as european pears...i.e. Bosc, Anjou, and Bartlett. It outproduces them and makes up for it in disease resistance and ease of care.
