What kind of peppers are these?

So I made the mistake of asking my mom to pick me up some habeneros on her way home. Our conversation on the phone should have told me something was wrong, she named just about every pepper she knew before I told her "You know habeneros! They're the orange ones."

Whoops...

So I'm stuck here with a bag of these unidentified peppers on my counter.

They are orange... sort of. More like they were green and are halfway to turning red, making a detour at orange on the way. They've got patches of green and red all over them.

They are about the size and shape of a serrano. A little bigger, both in length and girth.

  1. go to this site and see if you see the same ones there becuase it could be a couple differant ones

  2. if you haven't used the peppers for a while they turn red from green, so it could be any pepper. maybe a jalapeno

  3. Sounds like a african birdseye or perhaps a cayenne.
