What kind of phone calls will the "do not call list" get rid of?

We are already on a do not call list but we still get some annoying calls. One is a pre-recorded one about a car warranty about to expire, but we've never had a car warranty. And we get tons of surveys. Is there any way to make them stop calling?

  1. The Government do not call list should get rid of all so called telemarketing calls. However, there has been a rash of computer generated spam calls (pre aproved credit scams and extended warranty scams, for two) that originate in other countries that use state side phone numbers. Both the FTC and the FCC have been trying to put a stop to this practice, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of co-operation from some of the source countries.

  2. marketing, unwanted spam calls

  3. teletmarketers

  4. the national do not call list will stop unsolicited telemarketing calls from companies that you do NOT have accounts with. If you have ever had accounts with the company you must have them place you on their in-house do not call list as well as the national DNC.
