What kind of player will Tampa choose?

Question

Since they have the first pick, what kind of player will Tampa choose? Before the trade deadline, I would have said a goalie, but now, with Mike Smith, I' thinking D-man. Any thoughts?

well you would have to be extremely confident to use a pick for a goalie in the first round and i dont think any of the prospects are that great.  that said they are going to take the best player, stamkos.

They are going to trade the pick to Toronto for Pavel Kubina and Darcey Tucker.

That is just to keep Haley happy.

Buffalo Boys:  Hey there homeslice, up until Buffalo got their crazy annoying bandwagon this season, the Lightning beat the Sabres in attendance for the last 5 years.

***The only time I see the Forum crammed with other fans is when the Habs or the Leafs play down here.  I saw ALL Lightning fans on the night that the Lightning won the Stanley Cup in Game 7.  Maybe there were Lightning fans there when the Sabres won the Cup.  Oh, that's right...they never won a Stanley Cup.  haha

Homes: If you live in Tampa and have attended any of the Sabre games down there you would notice then more then 45% of the arena is full of Sabre fans. Buffalo has always had a strong fan base; its the only thing the city has haha.

Go to Anderchuks across from the arena when tha Sabres are down in Tampa next year and you tell me what city you think your in when you see all gold and blue and people chanting 'lets go buffalo'

the steven stamkos. he's going to be the next big thing to hit the nhl. i would've also thought that tampa would pick a player of another position, but they'd be crazy to give up on this kid.

what the guy above me said. if i was them i'd pick zach bogosian, or alex pietrangelo, or the guy i'm wishing the leafs would pick over filatov, luke schenn!!!!!
