I've never purchased them before. If anyone knows the average pricing or where I can get deals, I would love to know.

Any other tips on what to bring of that nature is also greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. You don't say for what or for how long. That makes it tough. You might get a 99 cent 3 prong (Grounded) female to 2 prong (Unfrounded) male adaptor. How good of a deal do you need on a 99 cent item?

  2. Get yourself a Universal adapter that fits most all foreign outlets.

  3. Mexican outlets are same as elsewhere in North America so assuming that your electrical items are also from North American then you don't need any sort of adapter. If however you have electrical items from the UK or Europe then you will need and adapter. The suggestion by Roger C about a grounded to ungrounded cord is a good one though as it's pretty common to find only the flat two prong plugs in Mexico.

On the outside chance that you are starting from somewhere other than the US/Canada guess an adapter would run about  10-20 Euros of course depending on where you are and what features (i.e. number of outlets, surge protection, fuses, step down/step up ability etc.) you got.

  4. I have been going to Mexico on vacation for years and found that as long as you stay in a respectable hotel the plugs all work fine with your appliances.  They also will sell you any adapter you may need at the lobby desk of any good hotel.

As I don't know where you live, I don't know what kind of power outlet you need but the North American appliances work just fine in Mexico.

Also, most hotels with a 3 star or higher rating have hair dryers in the bathrooms for you.  Your computer, mp3 players etc will all plug into the plugs in the hotel rooms.
