  1. Your best bet is to buy a Polaroid camera that takes 600 film. The film that comes out and the picture is a square lined by white borders. There's a variety of 600 cameras that Polaroid has made and they are from the 90s.

SX-70s take bigger pictures, but they are sold slightly higher then the 600 cameras. Both the SX-70 and 600 cameras are no longer produced by Polaroid though, so you're going to have to buy them used somewhere.

I do warn you, Polaroid has gone out of business and is no longer making instant cameras, or instant film for their cameras. You can still buy their instant film in the mean time, but they are expensive.

If you still want to shoot Polaroid cameras, you're probably better off buying their older pack film cameras. (Their 100-400 camera series.) Even though Polaroid is no longer making film, Fuji makes pack film that the Polaroid pack film cameras can accept. You can't find pack film in stores though, so you're going to have to buy them online.

Once again, Polaroid doesn't make instant cameras anymore, so you're going to have to buy all of them used regardless of it's series, but don't let that stop you from buying one. I have a Polaroid 250 that uses pack film and I love it. :)

  2. You might not be able to get film for any Polaroid camera in the future.

Polaroid has announced that they are getting out of the film business.

That said, I think the SX-70 was the coolest camera, but the one from the 90s would be the Spectra.

  3. Since Polaroid is no longer producing any more camera or film, you need to consider if it's worth getting a Polaroid camera. I guess the ones who are still buying them (from eBay etc) are betting that another company will buy the license and continue making the films (most likely the 600 film because that's the most commonly used, therefore making business sense). I myself have just bought two Polaroid SX-70, reputably the most elegant and considered Polaroid founder Land's masterpiece. You can get quite good offers for these cameras at the moment for the fact that most people are not sure if they could still use the camera once the current stocks of films are sold out by next year. Even so, you have to either modify the camera or the 600 films in order to use them.

You might also want to consider other cameras that uses the Polaroid 600 flms which are also cheaply available on various auction sites.
