What kind of polyurethane or finish should i use on a oak hardwood floor that is outside in a screened porch?

  1. Go to your Marine store and buy some Marine Polyurethane.Ideal in wet areas.


  2. I refinish hardwood floors for a living, if it will see weather (rain, snow or excessive sun) use an oil based poly.  If the screens have windows that can be pulled up so rain stays off it, you can use a water-based poly.

    But I tell you no matter what, if there is no heat through the winter it will peel with in a few years.  In those cases you can usually just re-coat.

  3. I'm not sure if it's available in your area but Zar makes a exterior polyurethane that would work well in that situation it'll be cheaper than marine grade. other companies might have it too but i KNOW zar has one.
