  1. I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD TOO HE IS IN PRE K FOR 3 YEAR OLDS  PER K STARTS AT 3 YEARS OLD  WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS... GO TO THE ELEMENTREY SCHOOL SHE WILL BE GOING TO AND ASK THEM ABOUT THE 3 YEAR OLD PRE K OR EVEN ASK THE DAYCARE IF THEY CAN REFER YOU TO ANYONE.

  2. a private or public preschool? hmm never heard of that, usually you gotta pay them both, unless its state funded, like head start..take her to where she will be looked after well first and foremost, but yes preschool is great these days

  3. Talk with other mothers and ask them where they sent their children. A preschool may look great from the outside, but until you have a recommendation from another parent you won't know if it's really as nice as it seems.

Whether you want to go public or private is totally up to you. How much more will a private preschool cost? Will it fit well into your budget, or will it make money tight?

I wouldn't consider it if it will make money things tighter around your house. I'm sure there are many amazing public preschool programs in your area, and your child could get just as well of an education there. After all, it is just preschool.

Are you planning on enrolling her at a public or private elementary school? I know some more prestigious schools in the NYC area would prefer her to go to a private preschool. But if she's going to a parochial school or public school, it shouldn't make much difference.

Just do your research, and talk to other parents if possible. You might find that there are some amazing public ones that are much better than a private one.

  4. Well, I think Dear Gaby meant that the only public preschools are Head Start programs, which have income guidelines. The rest are private.

Check out some schools in your area. Search on greatschools.net for parent reviews. There are a lot of different types of private preschools, and not all of them are religious. You could look into Montessori or Waldorf, or even Reggio-Emilia schools Check out a couple in your area, go on a tour, and then see what kind you want your daughter in.

After a lot of searching, we chose a Montessori school for our three year old. She starts next week. We got a great vibe from the school, and the teachers were wonderful. It was the kind of curriculum we wanted for our daughter. We didn't want to send her to a school where she would learn from workbooks and stuff like that, but a place where she would learn through experience and exploration.

So think about what you want your daughter to get out of her school. There are probably a frew bilingual preschools near you. =D  Good luck.

  5. Before you go bragging about your daughter and yourself you may want to proofread your writing ~ just a suggestion since fancy schools look at such things

I would suggest you put your applications in to the ones near your area, see who accepts you and then go in to interview them going with your heart and allowing your daughter to choose the one that makes her feel comfortable

My dog chose me and my dog also chose her groomer ~ you laugh but she can sense just like a child good and bad

I can sense good and bad just like you
