What kind of process strategy does a pharmaceutical company adopts?

i am doing a project on a pharmaceutical company and would like to know what kind of process strategy does it adopt.

is it process , product , repetitive or mass customization ?

it is  - marketing research, medical background, conducting clinical research, product, process, repetitive trials then mass customization.  

the end result is which they will deny -profits with sheer masses using their products. patenting it and ensuring that developing cant use it unless they pay a high price, makes them control the market and profits.  these companies r in the top 10 richest companies.   they go where the market is.  look at hiv drugs - its bloody expensive.  so millions still suffer but they make profits 'cos those in developed countries can afford it
