What kind of programs are available to send children to a Christian school rather than a public school?

I am poor and I cannot afford to pay for a Christian school myself, however, I really do not like the public school system at all, and there is no way I could afford to stay home from work and homeschool my children, are there any programs that could help me?

  1. unfortunately, your children will not have the opportunity for private school, because you had them before having the money and resources to send your children to a private school. hence, i don't have children yet so I can afford them that opportunity and I'm 27.  But maybe you can call the schools and see if they have financial aid and grants.

  2. Why dont you try community centers, they might help, and there are always all the things kids need, like Sports fun studies, But i also think you should, devot time to your children other wsie u might loose them, i know this soounds rediclus but i know how it feels, to be a losen kind

  3. The schools themselves, and the churches they are affiliated with often offer scholarships, or reduced tuition.

You need to talk to the schools board of directors, and the pastor of your, or their church and see what you can arrange.

Otherwise private schooling, just like home schooling is a choice that, unless their are vouchers available in your area for transfers to private schools, is completely paid for by the parents.

  4. Unfortunately christian schools are private which means they are owned by the parents who pay tuition there. not much of a chance to get in unless you have some kind of magical christian grant and if you're willing to be in that cult im sure they will support you. it's a lot like a gang, only you'll get ridiculed instead of killed if you leave

  5. what's wrong with public schools?

we got christians at public schools, and since your poor, why not save some money instead of wasting on schools that you got to pay for?

public schools don't go against any religion... and besides you really want your kid to become an hardcore christian that trys to convert everyone that he/she sees? and what if your child lives long enough and maybe, just maybe god will be dis proven do you want someone with so much faith be broken like that???

anyways shouldn't be asking a question in a question.

    Use www.google.com, www.ask.com, or www.dogpile.com or www.clusty.com

just keep searching or use different questions in different order...

  6. there is some program i am on i m home school, and the computer is my homeschool teacher,  i amnot going to tell what shool i got to

  7. I am the oldest of six and we all went to private.  First go to the school in which you are interested and begin there.  Talk w/ someone about scholarships as well as talk to the church you go to.  Don't get discouraged, its not going to be easy.  I remember the sacrifices we made as a family in order for all of us kids to get that kind of an education.

  8. I would suggest contacting the private schools near you.  Many have a scholarship program set up to help families that can't afford the tuition.  Many also offer free tuition to your kids if you work there...you might check to see if they need anyone, in the office or as a teacher's aide?

There is no program set up, government-wise, to help send kids to private school; the government funds the public schools, and that's it.

Depending on how old your kids are, you may very well be able to homeschool them.  I have friends who are single parents, working part and full time, who homeschool their kids and are very successful at it.  It takes organization and commitment, but it can be done.  Also, bear in mind that with homeschooling, lessons don't have to take place between 8 and 3.  They can take place according to your schedule, either before or after work.

Sorry, I know this wasn't the answer you were hoping for, but hopefully it gives you some ideas you can work with.  Good luck :-)
