What kind of punishment is appropriate for a mother who leaves a 2 yr old toddler at home to go partying?

it is sad that he now is looking at having to live a life being pulled from pillar to post, the system around kids being taken into care in one hand is needed (proved by this vile woman) but it also unfortunalty can (and not always i know) let the kids down immensely! this woman shouldnt be put in jail, she should be made to face not only her own problems but she should now have to witness what she has emotionally and menatlly done to this child. i absolutely HATE that tax payers have to pay for these kind of people!!

she should be sterilised and banned from being near children for life. put her in a room full of people who cannot have children of their own and let them have a go at her. thankfully the little one has been adopted and hopefully wont remember his bad start in life.

Child should be taken away from her by Social Services and she should be prosecuted for child neglect.

I have an 18 month old son and I very rarely even leave him even with a babysitter or my fiance!  He's with me all the time.  My son is my life and he is never, ever left alone or put into any risk of harm at all.  How someone can do that is beyond me.

If the child is left with a responsible adult and she checks in from time to time no problem, but if the child was left alone or with someone not so responsible then I think the child should be turned over the child protective custody

i think it is disgusing how any mother can leave her 2 yr old or any child thats too young alone, for the punishment it should be the worst thing anyone can think off. to me people who leave the child alone dont deserve to have them.

How is putting his mother in prison going to help the boy? Who can say a foster parent isn't going to be a worse parent? Don't you know of irresponsible foster parents who adopt kids for a welfare check?

It seems that public opinion concentrates more on vengence and punishment than solving actual problems or dealing with issues.
