What kind of questions should I ask my daycare provider's references?

  1. Has there been any behavior that you have experienced that seemed odd, how do they discipline a child. How long have you know or been at the day care, where did you hear of them from....things like that are always good. I had very horrible things happen at our daycare center and I would ask as many questions as you possible could think of and if anything seems a little out of place go with your instinct!!!!!!


  2. Everything Mis said and then...

    Did you ever stop in early unannounced?  

    Did you ever feel like you caught them off guard or were you always welcome?  

    Did you know the other parents and did they seem happy? Have you ever tried another day care and how does this one compare?  

    How do they handle the unexpected faux paux?  (Like showing up late, once.  Or a s***w up at the bank causing a bounced check, once.  No one expects them to accept either on a reoccuring basis).  Do they treat you (and therefore your child) like a person or a comodity?
