What kind of questions to ask..

I teach esl to adults and teens and they want to improve their speaking skills... well that's fine, but i need help with which questions to ask... So the subjects they like are religion, culture, psychology, music, mystries.... some of the students are very lazy and i need some way of coxing them..... Please any help

ask them personal questions... about the applicable subjects... play mystery radio cds and have them follow along with a book or something.
