ok i have had problems with my system in my vehicle. i have two fifteens, 1600 watt amp, a compacitor, and a dvd player radio. the radio has a safety feauture that makes it cut off when something is not right. well my radio is cutting off and i have already replaced every wire in my truck. the radio works perfectly fine when the amp is not hooked up so something is wrong from the radio to the amp which would be the rca wires... what kind should i use?

  1. The BEST RCA cables you can buy are made from RG-6 satellite cable. These can be made very cheaply.

  2. Do you have the power wire for the amp hooked to the battery or the radio.

If it is hooked to the radio, then maybe when the amp is on it is pulling to much power and makes the radio cut off.

  3. make sure you are plugging the rca wires into the right input and not the output on the amp, other then that i dont think the rca wires would be the problem, unless their cut or broken somewhere, in that case their like $5 at walmart or bestbuy.(check your grounds and other wires) also, make sure your capacitor is connected right, its the number one thing people put in wrong cuz they dont take the 2 sec to read the instructions.

does your amp go into protect when the stereo shuts off?

  4. buy some jl audio cables they have 18ft and 25ft and there solid probably spend about 45 bucks on ebay for them. yes a little expensive for cables but they are worth it.
