What kind of reed do i need for my oboe?

i have 2 questions here:

My grandma has an oboe that used to be my cousins or her dads i think.

my grandma offered it to me if i want to play it but i said no, but now i want to learn to play the oboe. i already play the guitar but i dont see why i cant learn to instruments, except that my mother doesnt want me to learn it.

itz really hard to convince my mum but i really want to play so wat should i say to her - i dont think she wants to hav to pay for oboe lessons as well as guitar lessons...

any ideas on how i can convince her or if i can learn it by myself or sumfin lyk dat?

and:

so if i can get to learn the oboe, i need a reed for it i think and so wat kinda reed do i need. do they come in different sizes and stuff so if u cud just say wat i need to know it wud be great thanx.

beginners a 2 1/2 inch DOUBLE read.

i dont really know whats the oboe looks like. its nice to know that you really love music also like me like playing guitar (how i wish i could learn to play guitar also) why dont you enroll in a music school? thanks
