What kind of router do I need?

I bought an Acer Laptop(Vista), my old router does not seem strong enough. My new laptop is very cheap and my old one was stronger,G router or N router ?

well ur mistake was buying an acer. ACERS SUCK!!!

as for the router; ur gonna have to contact your ISP, because i think N routers are only for FIOS

I'd go with one that supports both 802.11b and 802.11g.

Hands down Linksys WRT54G wireless router. Linksys is owned by Cisco and if you don't know, most of the equipment that runs the internet was created by them. They are only 50 bucks at newegg.com

I suggest an N router.

They're nearly just as cheap and it's the strongest available.  Ours was $59.99 at bestbuy.
