  1. Same here!

    :]

I don't get any pain in my feet but I had problems with my legs since I do track and field and triple/long/high jump took a big toll on my feet. I ended up getting orthodicts which completely took care of the problem. And you can put them in any shoes wide enough for them to fit.

  2. NO SURGERY! Uhm, i am looking at my Runners World Magazine and this is what it says for Flat Feet:

When you have a flat foot, that means you have a tendency to over-pronate. (That means that you absorb too much shock while running. Your body takes in too much shock, which isnt a bad thing, just isnt normal.) Therefore, you should be wearing a shoe that has a straight shape. You need a shoe that will prevent your foot from rolling in too far; (over pronating) that is, a motion control shoe. Many motion control shoes have a straight shape that gives maximum support to your foot. Other characteristics to look for: a firm rather than a soft midsole; a dual density midsole with the denser material along the inner edge of the shoe to prevent excessive pronotation, and a firm heel counter to minimize rearfoot motion.

That is everything it says. You may not understand this, but go to a specialty running store. You may want to print this out and show it to someone who can help you. This is from a magazine, so its accurate. Hope this will help you! And when your feet start to hurt, that means its time for new shoes. Also, there is special socks that have a band over your arch for flat feet. Try them out!
