I am currently attending community college. I have a 4.0 GPA and I have been invited to join Phi Theta Kappa. I would like to go to a good 4 yr school.

I am currently looking at Bucknell, Duquesne, Spelman, and the SUNY schools. What are my chances of getting into those schools?

I will be an International Relations Major

  1. Definitely join Phi Theta Kappa! Not only does it look really good on a resume but It offer a lot of transfer scholarships and it's a lot of fun.

  2. Having a 4.0 gpa is not enough for some colleges to offer you a full ride or even accept you. Realize that if you're reach schools are in the ivy leagues, almost all of your competition will be packing 4.0 GPAs.

However, the current schools you are looking for (SUNY, Spelman, etc.) are probably more than happy to accept you, so while I can't give you a percentage, your chances are high.

Also realize that not all 4.0s are made equal. Is that a weighted GPA, and is that a 4.0 in AP courses or CP-level courses?

  3. If you have a 4.0 any university will want you.

My friend had a 4.0 all through high school and got a full ride to a university.

My other friend had a 3.8 and she actually loaded up on credits and graduated a year early and is starting her masters.
