What kind of sentence would i get if i killed someone who was robbing me?

what if a robber had an assault rifle and sneaked into my house and started stealing stuff, and i went downstairs knowing nothing was going on and i saw him and he looked at me and he raised his rifle and i pulled out a gun and shot him 5 times and he died. what would i get?????

that depends on the state. most states it would be called self defense. you should look up the laws in your state

Nothing.  In most places, it is lawful self-defense.

The goal is to ride yourself of harm.

Once the perpetrator is down, but not dead, you should not shoot him again.

heres your story and stick to it he was pointing his gun at you in a threating way you told him to put the gun down 3 times after that you shot him if you don't kill him with the first shot shoot him again and say he was trying to grab his gun and you feared for your life and when you get interagated bring a tape recorder with you but dont tell anybody go home and learn every word on that tape because you might have to lie on the fly and you dont want to have two diffrent stories it just makes you look bad and say you know your going to go to jail for it because you messed up your story take a plea deal
