What kind of setup do you need for tornadoes to develop?

The most basic setup required is for warm and cold air to meet.

When warm air rises up and meets cold air. They do so in a spiral motion and develop further to create tornadoes.

You need a lot of CAPE.

You need a good supply of moisture and convergence at low levels.

You need some wind shear at low levels.

You need a trigger to get convection going - day-time heating will do it.
