  1. It is in bad shape and the Fed is printing money like crazy! Buy silver and gold, it has been, is, and always will be real currency, not paper! Protect yourself.

  2. Every economy has its ups and downs. That said, the economy is in rather poor shape. Not only are gas prices soaring, but so are food prices. Gas & Food could be listed as staples in everyone's lives. The only thing that could offset higher costs for people is an increase in wages. However, since companies are not getting consumers to spend, profits are diminished and hence they cannot give higher increases. It's a rather vicious cycle. But it will turn around. The higher costs could be partially attributed to a lower dollar value. But the lower dollar value makes the US look like a great place for exports. Having an increase in exports will help the US budget deficit overall (which has done nothing but increase in the past few years). This is a good thing. Also, as exports increase, this means demand for the dollar increases as well. Supply v Demand, as demand increases and supply remains constant, the value of the dollar will increase. Interest rates are low now, which in theory promotes spending - why put money away in a low interest savings account? The stock market is extremely volatile at the moment, but that's because people don't know what is going on. I wouldn't worry about that.

This basically says, we're going to get out of it. It is in poor shape, but it'll turn itself around.

  3. BETWEEN GLOBAL WARMING,,,, AN OUTSIDE RACE MY BELIEF IS WE'RE ON A SLOW SPIRAL ROLL DOWNWARD. IT COULD EVEN DEPLETE THE STOCK MARKET. THEIR'S A WAY OUT THOUGH, ALL IT TAKES IS KNOWLEDGE FROM THE RIGHT PERSON.

  4. 1st quarter 2008, GDP= 9/10 % increase.

Is that a loss?  A minus?

It still takes two quarters loss to be termed a recession.

Interest rates are probably as low as they'll get this year.  Prime=2%.

    Credit cards are insane.

My bank card is 5% right now.

  5. At the moment there is a lot of manipulation going on to cover a lot of backsides . But , that can not last long . Then it will be like a roller coaster ride .
